Kate is a Certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and utilizes SE as well as SE focused expressive art therapy with her adolescent, adult, and family clients to address anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD, relationship and life transitions.

Kate utilizes trauma informed Somatic Experiencing (SE) methodologies to engage clients, both individual and family, in understanding somatic responses to trauma triggers. Training focus is on trauma recovery by helping individuals build awareness, coherence and self-regulation. The result is a having deeper understanding of body/mind connection, increasing the ability to release and regulate emotions, manage stress and transition, resolve issues related to trauma, heal from and navigate transitions, relationships and build resilience.

Kate engages with creative approaches to therapy with compassionate non-judgemental listening, to help clients feel heard, to connect, to understand and to heal.

Kate graduated from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota with a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and received a BFA from Minneapolis College of Art & Design. Kate studied Early Childhood Education at Southern Illinois University. Kate brings life experience, wide and deep as a creative director in corporate design and advertising, entrepreneur, artist, and Board of Directors member for Make-A-Wish MN , to her lens.
